BrewDog Sydney, located within the historic locomotive workshop in South Eveleigh, has quickly become an iconic gathering place.
We are known for our range of craft beer, our massive beer garden, our dining options and our family-friendly (and dog-friendly) environment.
Opened in 2022 and located a short walk from Redfern train station, our venue can accommodate 720 patrons inside and 190 outside, across a large indoor dining space, bar and beer garden.
Brew Dog’s site in South Eveleigh has a fascinating history. For 100 years from 1888 it operated as a workshop, mainly manufacturing steam locomotives.
During World War 11 it operated as a workshop where 100 women were employed in the manufacture of artillery shells.
By 1963 the manufacture of new locomotives ceased and it became a workshop for repair and maintenance.
Brew Dog, which launched in Scotland in 2008, is another remarkable story. Brew Dog’s founders James Watt and Martin Dickie, who met at school and then shared student digs at Edinburgh, began making their own craft beers in Fraserburgh, a town in northeast Scotland.
They launched their business in 2008 when they were both aged 24.
The pair started small, filling bottles by hand and selling their beers at local markets out of a beaten-up old van.
They became Scotland’s largest independent brewery.
Brew Dog picked Brisbane for the site of their first Australian venture in 2019. BrewDog Perth joins BrewDog Pentridge in Melbourne, BrewDog South Eveleigh in Sydney and two sites in Brisbane, BrewDog Murrarie and Fortitude Valley.
BrewDog South Eveleigh offers 40 brews on tap, including a range of BrewDog draught beers alongside guest beer tap takeovers and collaborations with local breweries.
BrewDog South Eveleigh’s food menu is 50 per cent plant-based, with an extensive range of vegan and vegetarian options alongside BrewDog’s legendary burgers, wings and pizzas. The beverage menu will include non-alcoholic options, spirits, wines, cocktails and ciders, making it the perfect spot for group catch-ups and social gatherings.
The venue, designed by Studio Y architects, pays homage to the rich history of the iconic Locomotive Workshop that the venue calls home.
Studio Y has respectfully designed the BrewDog bar around the original workshop machinery collection on display in the space to create an immersive and unique experience for customers.
